Privacy Policy

LineAnswer Labs (“LineAnswer”, “we”, “us”) provides AI voice agents that answer phone calls for small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to people who visit our website or request a demo, to the businesses that subscribe to LineAnswer (our customers), and to the people who call our customers' phone lines and speak with a LineAnswer AI voice agent (callers).

When our agent answers calls for a customer, we handle caller information on that customer's behalf and according to their instructions. The customer is responsible for their own privacy practices toward their callers.

2. Information we collect

  • Demo requests: your name, email address, phone number, company name, and industry, as entered in our Book a live demo form.
  • Customer account and setup information: contact and billing details, and the business information you give us to configure your agent, such as services, hours, prices, and policies.
  • Call information: for calls handled by our agents, this can include the caller's phone number, call recordings, transcripts, and details the caller shares, such as their name, appointment or order details, and reason for calling.
  • Information needed to complete workflows: data the agent reads from or writes to a customer's connected systems, such as a calendar, CRM, or ordering system.

3. How we use information

We do not sell personal information.

  • To respond to demo requests and contact you about LineAnswer.
  • To provide the service: answering calls, completing workflows, sending SMS confirmations and follow-ups, and passing information to our customers.
  • To set up, test, support, and improve the service for each customer. Our team reviews recordings or transcripts to improve performance only with the customer's consent.
  • To protect the service, for example by limiting repeated or abusive form submissions, and to meet legal obligations.

4. Call recordings and retention

Call recordings are stored for 14 days. Customers can ask us to disable call recording.

Other information, such as transcripts, demo requests, and customer account records, is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law. Retention for a customer's call data can be discussed and agreed during setup.

5. Service providers and where data is processed

We rely on trusted service providers to run LineAnswer, including providers for website hosting and databases, email delivery, telephony and SMS, and AI speech and language processing. They process information only to provide their services to us.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information processed in another country may be subject to that country's laws. Customers can ask us before setup which services are involved and where their data is processed and stored.

6. Consent and recording notices

By submitting a demo request, you consent to us using your information to respond to you.

Customers are responsible for giving callers any notices and obtaining any consents required by law for their calls to be answered by an AI agent and, where enabled, recorded. We can help configure a greeting that informs callers.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including restricting access to demo requests to authorised staff, and limiting each agent to the specific actions its workflows need in a customer's connected systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal and contractual limits. If you called a business that uses LineAnswer, please contact that business first, since we handle your call information on its behalf.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Contacting us and changes to this policy

To make a privacy request or ask a question, reply to any email you have received from us, or use the Book a live demo form and mention your request.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
